About me
I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. For undergraduate school, I attended Colorado College, where I studied Philosophy. I have always had an interest in the existential, and maintain a life-long curiosity about the “bigger questions” in life. If you have ever stayed up late asking yourself, “Why am I here?” or “What’s the point?” then you have found a good companion for that journey with me.
In May 2023, I graduated with a Master’s degree from the Steve Hicks School of Social Work at the University of Texas at Austin. I currently work as a therapist with Austin Family Counseling.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I worked for eight years in outdoor education at the Voyageur Outward Bound School. I spent many days in “the field” as an instructor, course director, and staff trainer. I love experiential education, and am perpetually delighted by watching people discover parts of themselves they didn’t know before existed.
Challenging systems of oppression is important to me, and I strive to do this in both my professional and personal spheres. I aim to be an advocate for historically marginalized folks, and am particularly passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent people.
When I am not sitting with folks in the therapy room, you can find me working on an art project, investing in my community, backpacking in the desert or mountains, reading with a cup of coffee (light roast), or cooing at whatever animal is nearest me.
