Conflict Mediation

Sometimes people need support navigating an active conflict or relational rupture, and aren’t necessarily looking for long-term relationship therapy. Maybe you and a person in your life have reached an impasse, and you’re not sure how to move forward. In these cases, I offer short-term conflict mediation, in which we work through a particular issue or event. Conflict mediation can be appropriate for family members, romantic partners, friends, house-mates, co-workers, and community members.

In conflict mediation with me, you can typically expect the following structure:

  • A one-on-one 50-minute session between myself and each individual, so that I can better understand each person’s perspective and experience

  • Coming together for one to three 80-minute joint sessions with all parties to develop greater understanding and insight, build empathy, repair harm, and make a plan for the future

  • Sometimes, mediation may require more sessions than those outlined above, and may continue until everyone feels that meaningful resolution has been achieved

Prior to becoming a therapist, I facilitated conflict resolution with families through The Voyageur Outward Bound School’s Intercept program. Those skills, combined with my experience as a couples and family therapist, are what allow me to support people in navigating these tender places.

Cost of mediation:

  • $185 per 50-minute individual session

  • $250 per 80-minute joint session

As with therapy, I do offer sliding scale options, should finances present a barrier. Please reach out to inquire further about what reduced-fee mediation slots I have available.

Please note that conflict mediation services are not appropriate should your conflict involve any kind of physical, sexual, or psychological abuse. A dynamic may be abusive if it involves elements of manipulation, control, or degradation. If abuse is present in any of your relationships, please seek a higher level of care through therapy or crisis support. The National Domestic Violence Hotline phone number is 1-800-799-7233.
